A Truth We Are Believing
Psalm 127:1–2
Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.
Fact: you can labor your life away in vain!
A Way We Are Living
We have numerous safety features around our house to help keep our family and especially our oldest with disabilities safe. One of my favorites is the Nest Secure Alarm System.
Our favorite feature is the sensors that we place on each door. Whenever someone opens a door our alarm system chimes. Whether we are upstairs or downstairs we immediately know if a door is open and someone is outside and shouldn’t be.
A Book We Are Reading
I am in the middle of reading John Flavel’s work Keeping the Heart. I have never before read one of Flavel’s books but he was nicknamed “The Sweet Dropper” for how he communicates and motivates toward Christ. He has not disappointed.
An Idea We Are Pondering
Want to set yourself up for success? Have fewer and extremely specific goals.
An Item We are Recommending
Growing up with parents who worked for CRU and ministering with Training Leaders International myself means I have written and sent a fair share of support letters. I have happy memories of folding, stuffing, sealing, and stamping letters late into the night as a family.
Yet one site that has simplified this process for us now is PrayerLetters.com. Anytime we send out physical letters we use this sight. They print and mail the letters on our behalf.
If you have never used the site before here is a special offer for your first order.
