A Truth We Are Believing
Hebrews 7:23-27
The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them. For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.
Jesus is the ultimate High Priest. He is eternal, saves to the uttermost, holy, innocent, unstained, separate, exalted, a sacrifice, and perfect forever. There is none better!
A Way We Are Living
One of our family traditions is our December Christmas box. On the first of December we give our kids a box that includes special Christmas activities for the month. It takes some planning, but we love it!
A Book We Are Reading
Because our kiddos have had some intense experiences with illnesses, we are always on the lookout for good books about trauma.
Something Scary Happened is a biblically based picture book for kids who have experienced trauma. It does a great job highlighting Jesus as our Good Shepherd.
An Idea We Are Pondering
It's hard to make progress when you are traveling in multiple directions.
An Item We are Recommending
We are big fans of Read Aloud Revival. They have wonderful booklists and podcast episodes.
Something new we jumped into this year was their Christmas School. If you are looking for a different homeschool rhythm for December, it is inexpensive and an open-and-go curriculum based on reading out loud.
