A Truth We Are Believing

Psalm 119:67-68

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word. You are good and do good; teach me your statutes.

He is good and does good.

A Way We Are Living

For many years, I stayed up as late as possible to study and write. But my body finally hit a point where I just couldn't do it anymore.

So I switched my game plan.

Our oldest son often gets up at 2 or 3am for several hours because of his sleep disorder. I began getting up early with him and then staying up to spend time in God’s word and work.

In the mornings I am more productive, produce better quality materials, and get ahead of my day rather than pushing to the brink of exhaustion. Not to mention an early rise time actually helps me get more and better sleep.

A Book We Are Reading

A series we have loved for several years is the CCEF Good News for Little Hearts Series

These books contain interwoven characters facing different issues that children face today. They are excellent!

An Idea We Are Pondering

I often try to think of some profound truth that stirs or inspires. Yet the best advice I can offer to anyone in the middle of heart breaking sorrow is trust in Jesus and just keep going.

Keep breathing, keep trying, keep enduring while trusting in the one who will sustain you and keep you going.

An Item We are Recommending

One of the people that have influenced Amy and I most is John Piper. Both his preaching and his books have had a profound impact on us. We are grateful for his ministry at Desiring God

If you are interested in reading his books (as well as a few other writers from DG), Desiring God gives most of them away for free!
