A Truth We Are Believing

Matthew 11:28

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Rest is found in a person.

A Way We Are Living

One of the things we have learned to prioritize for our children is sleep. Doing this with an oldest who has a chronic sleep disorder has definitely been a challenge!

We read numerous books early on about children and sleep and we began to see the extensive affect that sleep had upon their development and behavior.

All of this means that we developed an early rhythm of a hard stop bedtime every night. This meant saying no to lots of things to get our kids in bed. This helped them develop the skills of getting early to bed and early to rise up. This also has been extremely important for our marriage. Getting those kiddos in bed and getting time together has been priceless!

A Book We Are Reading

Speaking of books on sleep, the book we benefitted most from regarding sleep habits for our kids is Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. This book was so helpful for several years for our kids. I appreciate how the books breaks sleep into age stages so you can get recommendations on sleep for multiple ages. We have loved this books so much we have sent it to multiple struggling parents.

An Idea We Are Pondering

What if you prioritized your time more than money?

An Item We are Recommending

We have had Ginger, our Bernese mountain dog, for over a year now. One of the most helpful training tools has been the SportDOG Training Collar. We always wanted a dog but we needed a calm furry friend especially with our son with special needs. Ginger is not a small lady, but this collar has helped calm her and given us the most success in training.
