A Truth We Are Believing
Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
When your God is the God in Psalm 91 there is no safer place you can rest. This is because in this Psalm alone God is revealed as the most high, the almighty, a refuge, a fortress, a deliverer, a covering, a shield, a buckler, a dwelling place, a commander, a protector, one who answers, a rescuer, one who satisfies, and the giver of salvation.
Stand in awe. Approach boldly. Trust firmly.
A Way We Are Living
One thing I love about fall is getting back into family rhythms. While we read aloud more this summer, fall is always the season we get back into our night time read aloud.
As the weather begins to cool and the days grow shorter, snuggling up as a family over good books is one of my favorite family rhythms. We have had many wonderful literary adventures. There is nothing quite like experiencing a story together. It continues to knit our family together in a special way!
A Book We Are Reading
One of my favorite parts about homeschooling is getting to watch our children progress in learning. We've been looking for engaging stories to help our nine-year-old love reading. While he has listened to hundreds of audiobooks, his reading level is still catching up to his listening level.
We just began reading the Ranger In Time books together. This is the first series he is reading out loud to us. These books have been a great way to keep him engaged while also giving him reading practice.
An Idea We Are Pondering
Homeschooling isn’t a moment in a day, it’s a lifestyle
An Item We are Recommending
Great adaptive strollers are hard to come by and often very expensive. We recently got a new stroller for Levi that has been amazing. The Josi stroller is our first ever adaptive jogger and it’s fantastic.
It can handle normal paths, rugged terrain, convert to a bike trailer, and even has skis for the winter! We love investing in items that help Levi continue to be present in all our family adventures whether it's walking, riding, biking, and even trudging through the snow.
