a truth we are believing …

Psalm 39:4–5

O. Lord, make me know my end and what is the measure of my days; let me know how fleeting I am! Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths, and my lifetime is as nothing before you. Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath!

Life is a vapor. So live like it.

a way we are living …

Amy used to have to convince me that aesthetics and design were important.

That was until our life got very intense with caring for our firstborn son thirteen years ago. Since then I have experienced how the environment Amy creates in our home positively effect not just our son (who has complex medical and special needs) but our entire family.

From our minds, to our bodies, to our hearts, our environment has a significant effect on how we spend our days.

a book we are reading …

We love books in the Mulvihill Family!

Three of our favorites by John Piper that have changed our lives include:

(1) Desiring God taught us that God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him.

(2) Future Grace taught us to fight for faith in all of life by trusting the promises of God.

(3) The Pleasures of God taught us the greatness of the glory of God by seeing how God’s deepest pleasures dwell in the joy of himself.

an idea we are pondering …

Living according to the Bible is radically different than living according to our culture.

Culture says: “Help is found by looking within yourself.

The Bible says: “Help is found by looking to Jesus.”

an item we are recommending …

From doctor visits, to therapies, to scheduling care in our home, to homeschooling four kids, to investing in real estate there is a lot that we need to do and keep track of.

One of my secret weapons for staying organized as well as a go to source for dumping tasks and scheduling them out is the app: Todoist

I have used Todoist for years and can’t imagine what I would do without it.
