A Truth We Are Believing
“Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands” (Psalm 63:3–4).
Our praise endures because his love is enough.
A Way We Are Living
Do you want to stir your child’s heart and kindle their imagination? Give your kids:
(1) a few simple toys…
(2) excellent books….
(3) natural materials…
(4) space to attempt, fail, and imagine!
A Book We Are Reading
Want a series that will capture the attention of boys and girls? One series near and dear to us is The Green Ember Series by S.D. Smith.
We have been waiting for years to read these books with our four kiddos. We recently dove into the first book: The Green Ember.
Our kids were mesmerized!
There are few series we can recommend as highly as these stories of rabbits with swords.
An Idea We Are Pondering
How do you accomplish more of the right things in addition to a life of caregiving?
(1) Identify the few additional things you should be doing.
(2) Choose 1 or 2 specific tasks at the beginning of each day.
(3) Use pockets of opportunity to maximize your time between needs.
When you identify tasks to be completed, your brain more readily finds opportunities to act.
Even on full days with endless needs, you will discover opportunities you never knew you were wasting.
An Item We are Recommending
I was elated when Amy surprised me one year for Christmas by giving me several of these handy dandy cabinet hole drilling templates.
When we remodeled our kitchen, we made a cardboard cutout that acted as a guide for drilling holes for hardware. It. took. forever!
When we remodeled two kitchens in one of our rental units, this little guide sped up the process about 10x faster. I never cut hardware holes without them because the frustration and time just aren't worth it.
